I’d had some training and experience as a live DJ in New York, and Dalkesh was a name that I used when performing in the mid-2010s. Ides was a mix series that I created in 2019.

The six installments brought together a range of music I'd been collecting, combining those tracks with an approach that hearkened back to my college-radio days in the 1990s — layering together music and words (in this case, speeches, interviews, and soundbites) that touch upon our lives, our times, and our histories.

My role in this project is mainly that of selector. In other words, if you notice my hand at work overmuch, I didn’t deliver the goods. These mixes are not performances, in terms of the priority at work; they are layerings and intended for listening, a late-night radio show for your imagination.
